Danio feegradei
Also known as: Hikari Danio, Feegradei Danio
Origin: Rakhine State, Myanmar
Danio feegradei was described from coastal stream systems in Rakhine State, Myanmar, and remains infrequently available in the trade. It displays a pleasing iridescent blue-gold lateral stripe and pale yellow fin markings. In behaviour it is a typical active danio, doing best in schools in well-planted tanks. Its relative scarcity makes it a sought-after addition for collectors building Myanmar biotope aquaria.
Water: 20–26 °C, pH 6.5–7.5, soft to moderately hard (GH 4–15). Tank: 40 L minimum; planted tank with moderate flow and open midwater. Feeding: Omnivore — micro pellets, Daphnia, baby brine shrimp, quality flake. Behaviour: Active peaceful schooler; keep 8+ for confident group behaviour. Compatibility: Good with other small peaceful community fish and nano shrimp.
