Colisa sota
Also known as: Honey Dwarf Gourami, Honey Gourami
Origin: South Asia
Colisa sota (formerly treated as a variant of C. chuna) is a diminutive gourami from slow-moving, vegetated waters of Bangladesh and northeast India. Males display brilliant golden-orange spawning colours while females remain more modestly coloured. It is one of the most peaceable gouramis available and thrives in small, well-planted setups.
Water: temp 24–28°C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft to medium hardness. Tank: minimum 40L; well-planted with floating plants; avoid strong currents. Feeding: omnivore — micro pellets, flakes, live or frozen daphnia, artemia nauplii. Behaviour: very peaceful; males build bubble nests and court females gently. Compatibility: excellent nano community fish; compatible with small tetras, rasboras, and shrimp.
