Pomacea bridgesii (ivory morph)
Also known as: Ivory Mystery Snail, White Mystery Snail
Origin: South America (selectively bred)
The Ivory Mystery Snail is a selectively bred Pomacea bridgesii morph with a pure white to cream shell and a pale cream-white body, giving it a clean, almost luminous appearance. It is gentle, plant-safe, and an effective algae and detritus grazer. Like all mystery snails, it is prolific but manageable as it requires both male and female to breed.
Water: 18–28°C, pH 7.0–8.0; hard, calcium-rich water essential to maintain its pristine white shell. Tank: Minimum 40L with a lid and air gap above the waterline; avoid copper-based medications. Feeding: Algae wafers, blanched vegetables, biofilm; supplement with cuttlebone for calcium. Behaviour: Active and exploratory day and night; lays distinctive pink-to-white egg clutches above the waterline. Compatibility: Ideal community snail; safe with peaceful fish and dwarf shrimp.
