Centropyge interruptus
Origin: Japan
The Japanese Pygmy Angelfish (Centropyge interruptus) is one of the rarest and most sought-after dwarf angels in the hobby, displaying a striking blue body that grades into vivid orange on the lower half and tail. It is rarely imported due to its deep-water habitat off Japan and is considered a true collector's specimen. Only experienced marine aquarists should attempt to keep this species in a well-established, stable system.
Requires a well-established reef or FOWLR system of at least 150 L. Provide ample live rock for grazing and hiding. Feed a varied diet of high-quality flake, frozen mysis, spirulina, and angel-specific preparations. Keep as the only dwarf angel. May nip at soft corals.
