Scleropages jardini
Origin: Northern Australia, Southern New Guinea
Scleropages jardini, the Jardini or Australian Arowana, is the native Australian species of arowana. Unlike the South American Silver Arowana, it has a rounder body with distinctive red-edged scales creating a stunning pattern. Considered more aggressive than the Silver; it will actively chase and attack other large fish, making it best kept solo. Naturally found in northern Australian rivers and southern New Guinea. A captivating display fish for dedicated large-tank enthusiasts.
500+ L, extremely secure lid. Temperature 24–30 °C. Feed large floating pellets, crickets, live or frozen fish, prawns, earthworms. Highly aggressive — best kept alone or only with very large, non-aggressive fish. Regular large water changes essential.
