Corydoras julii
Origin: Lower Amazon, Brazil
Corydoras julii is a small, delicate cory with a white body covered in tiny black dots and a bold black lateral stripe. True C. julii originates from the lower Amazon basin near Belém; the very similar-looking C. trilineatus is more commonly available. Both make excellent community fish and are often sold interchangeably in Belgium. A peaceful and active schooler that spends its time sifting through the substrate for food particles.
Groups of 6+. Fine sand essential. Temperature 22–26 °C. Feed sinking micro-pellets, frozen bloodworm and daphnia. Sensitive to salt and elevated nitrates. Excellent scavenger for planted tanks.
