Corydoras kanei
Also known as: Kane's Cory
Origin: South America
Corydoras kanei is an uncommon Peruvian species with a clean, attractive pattern of dark spots or blotches along the lateral line. It is found in the Amazon tributaries of Peru and requires good water quality and soft, slightly acidic conditions. Its scarcity in the hobby makes it a desirable species among Corydoras enthusiasts.
Water: 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.2, soft to medium hardness; prefers clean, well-oxygenated water. Tank: 60L+, fine sand substrate, moderate filtration, plants and open sandy areas. Feeding: Sinking wafers, quality pellets, frozen bloodworm, brine shrimp, and daphnia. Behaviour: Peaceful schooling bottom dweller; groups of 6+ essential. Compatibility: Good community fish with similarly sized peaceful species.
