Chaetodon kleini
Origin: Indo-Pacific, Red Sea
Klein's Butterflyfish (Chaetodon kleini) is one of the hardiest and most beginner-friendly butterflies in the hobby, featuring a warm yellow-orange body with fine white-and-dark chevron diagonal lines and a modest eye stripe. It readily accepts frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and prepared marine foods, making it far more forgiving than most of its genus. An excellent starter butterflyfish for hobbyists new to the group.
House in a FOWLR aquarium of at least 180 L. Offer a varied diet of frozen mysis, brine shrimp, krill, and marine pellets. Not considered reef-safe as it may nip at soft coral polyps. Peaceful with most other fish. One of the best introductory butterflyfish for the hobby.
