Pelvicachromis pulcher (albino form)
Origin: West Africa (captive bred)
The Albino Kribensis is a captive-bred colour morph of Pelvicachromis pulcher in which the absence of dark pigment produces a creamy-white to pale golden body that makes the female's vivid pink-red belly patch stand out even more dramatically than in the standard wild-type form. It shares all the hardiness, adaptability, and fascinating cave-spawning and parental behaviour of the standard colour form. One of the most beginner-friendly and rewarding dwarf cichlids available in the hobby.
House a pair or trio in a well-planted aquarium (minimum 80 L) with coconut shell caves or smooth-edged ceramic tubes for spawning. Maintain pH 6.0–7.5, temperature 24–28°C, soft to moderately hard water. Feed varied omnivore foods: quality cichlid pellets, frozen Artemia, bloodworm, and Daphnia. Keep as a mated pair; females become very protective around the breeding cave during spawning. Compatible with peaceful mid-water and top-dwelling community fish.
