About
The L001 Tiger Pleco (Hypancistrus sp. L001) is a compact loricariid from the fast-flowing, warm waters of the Rio Xingu in Brazil. It displays vivid black and pale yellow banding and is predominantly carnivorous, thriving on meaty foods supplemented with occasional algae wafers. Males are territorial toward each other but generally peaceful with dissimilar tankmates.

Water: 26–30°C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft to moderately hard; high flow recommended. Tank: Caves and smooth rocks essential; driftwood appreciated; minimum 100L. Feeding: Carnivore-leaning omnivore; offer bloodworms, brine shrimp, Repashy, algae wafers. Behaviour: Nocturnal; males spar over caves — provide one cave per fish. Compatibility: Peaceful with community fish; avoid keeping with same-species males.
