About
The L002 Tiger Pleco (Hypancistrus sp. L002) is another tiger-patterned member of the diverse Hypancistrus group from the Rio Xingu drainage. It shares the compact build, carnivore-leaning diet, and cave-breeding behaviour of its close relatives. Like the L001, it thrives in warm, well-oxygenated water with strong flow.
Care Guide
Water: 26–30°C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft water preferred; high oxygenation essential. Tank: Rocky caves and driftwood; minimum 100L with good flow. Feeding: Primarily meaty foods — bloodworms, prawns, Repashy; supplement with algae wafers. Behaviour: Nocturnal and reclusive; males territorial over cave sites. Compatibility: Good community fish; keep away from other male Hypancistrus.
