L007 Chocolate Pleco

Hypostomus sp. L007 is a smooth-bodied, dark brown to near-black Hypostomus from Brazil and Venezuela. Its subdued but handsome colouration deepens in optimal conditions. It is an adaptable, hardy herbivore that grazes algae and biofilm and suits large community aquariums alongside cichlids and larger characins.

Water: 24–29°C, pH 6.0–7.5, adaptable to moderate hardness. Tank: Driftwood and rocky hiding spots; minimum 200L. Feeding: Herbivore; algae wafers, blanched vegetables, driftwood, sinking pellets. Behaviour: Nocturnal; peaceful but may be territorial toward other large Hypostomus. Compatibility: Good large community pleco; avoid with other Hypostomus of similar size.
