L066 King Tiger Pleco

Hypancistrus sp. L066 is a mid-sized loricariid from the Rio Xingu, distinguished by its bold vermiculated black-and-white markings that vary individually. Like other Xingu Hypancistrus, it thrives in warm, fast-flowing, oxygen-rich water and leans toward a carnivorous diet. Males are territorial toward each other but otherwise peaceable.

Water: 26–30°C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft; strong current and high DO essential. Tank: Rocky caves and overhangs; driftwood for grazing; minimum 150L. Feeding: Carnivore-leaning; bloodworms, Artemia, quality sinking pellets, and algae wafers. Behaviour: Nocturnal; males actively defend territories — one per cave. Compatibility: Community safe; avoid similar-sized Hypancistrus males in same tank.
