L104 Chubby Pleco

Hypancistrus sp. L104 is a small, rotund loricariid from the Rio Orinoco system, displaying a contrasting banded or spotted pattern typical of the genus. Its compact size makes it suitable for smaller collector tanks and its peaceful nature renders it compatible with a wide range of tankmates. Like all Hypancistrus it requires warm, clean, oxygen-rich water.

Water: 26–30°C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft; good flow and oxygenation. Tank: Small caves and driftwood; minimum 80L; keep in pairs or small groups. Feeding: Carnivore-leaning omnivore; bloodworms, brine shrimp, quality small sinking pellets. Behaviour: Nocturnal; peaceful; males guard caves — provide one cave per male. Compatibility: Excellent with small-to-medium community fish and other peaceful Loricariidae.
