Hypancistrus inspector (L201) originates from the Rio Negro in Brazil and is named for its extraordinary vermiculated network pattern. It shares the genus' preference for warm, soft, acidic water and caves, and leans toward a carnivorous diet. Its compact size and exceptional patterning make it a highly sought collector's species.
Water: 26–30°C, pH 5.5–7.0, soft and slightly acidic; good flow preferred. Tank: Multiple small caves; driftwood; tannins beneficial; minimum 100L. Feeding: Carnivore-leaning omnivore; bloodworms, brine shrimp, quality sinking pellets. Behaviour: Nocturnal; reclusive but males will spar over caves. Compatibility: Excellent community fish; keep with small to medium peaceful species.
