Leporacanthicus joselimai (L264) is a mid-sized carnivorous loricariid from the clear, warm Rio Tapajós system in Brazil. It features the genus' characteristic elongated, fang-like teeth adapted for invertebrate prey. Its body is dark with well-spaced white spots and bold fin patterning. It requires clean, soft water and meaty foods.
Water: 25–29°C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft to moderate; good filtration and flow. Tank: Rocky caves; driftwood; minimum 150L for a single adult. Feeding: Carnivore; snails, bloodworms, frozen prawns, mussels, sinking carnivore pellets. Behaviour: Nocturnal; semi-aggressive toward similar species; predatory toward snails. Compatibility: Keep with larger fish; do not combine with snail or shrimp populations.
