Panaque sp. L397 is a rarely available and highly prized Colombian loricariid distinguished by its unusual blue-grey to slate body colouration and blue-tinted fin margins — a colour palette virtually unique among Panaque species. Its care requirements mirror other Panaque: driftwood-based diet, large aquarium, and excellent filtration.

Water: 25–30°C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft; strong filtration essential. Tank: Large driftwood pieces; caves; minimum 250L. Feeding: Xylophage; driftwood required; supplement algae wafers and blanched veg. Behaviour: Nocturnal; territorial; produces heavy waste. Compatibility: Large aquarium only; not compatible with other Panaque in the same space.
