Cirrhilabrus laboutei
Origin: New Caledonia, Coral Sea
Laboutei's Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus laboutei) is a dazzling species from New Caledonia and the Coral Sea, featuring a vivid candy-pink to magenta body with a yellow dorsal region and brilliant blue-edged caudal fin on terminal males. Named after the renowned French marine biologist René Laboute, it remains a prized and sought-after species in the specialty fairy wrasse trade.
House in a reef aquarium of at least 180 L with a tight-fitting lid to prevent jumping. Feed enriched frozen mysis, cyclops, and high-quality marine pellets two to three times daily. Peaceful with other species; can be kept with other fairy wrasses of different species but avoid multiple males. Provide ample open swimming space.
