Aspidoras lakoi
Also known as: Lako's Aspidoras
Origin: South America
Aspidoras lakoi is a scarce and little-documented Aspidoras species from Brazil, featuring a delicate pattern of small spots and a compact, rounded body form typical of the genus. Like all Aspidoras, it requires soft to medium water and a fine sand substrate to protect its delicate barbels. Its rarity makes it a prized species for armoured catfish enthusiasts.
Water: 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft to medium hardness; good water quality essential. Tank: 40L+, fine sand substrate, plants and gentle cover, low to moderate flow. Feeding: Micro sinking foods, frozen daphnia, cyclops, small bloodworm, and micro pellets. Behaviour: Peaceful schooling bottom dweller; keep in groups of 6+. Compatibility: Best with very small, peaceful nano community species.
