Amphiprion latifasciatus
Origin: Madagascar, Comoro Islands
The Latifasciatus or Madagascar Clownfish (Amphiprion latifasciatus) is an uncommon species restricted to the coastal waters of Madagascar and the Comoro Islands. It resembles the Sebae Clownfish but is distinguished by its particularly wide mid-body bar and rich yellow to orange colouration. A desirable species for dedicated clownfish collectors.
House in an aquarium of at least 100 L with an appropriate host anemone (Stichodactyla mertensii preferred) or as a pair in a peaceful reef. Feed a varied diet of frozen mysis, mince mussel, and high-quality marine pellets. Semi-aggressive toward other clownfish species but peaceful with dissimilar tankmates.
