Chaetodon rafflesii
Origin: Indo-Pacific
The Latticed or Raffles' Butterflyfish (Chaetodon rafflesii) has a bright yellow body covered in a detailed lattice-like dark scale pattern, a black eye stripe, and a dark tail band. It is moderately hardy and generally accepts a variety of prepared foods in captivity. A visually interesting species for FOWLR aquariums that stands out due to its distinctive fine scale patterning.
House in a FOWLR aquarium of at least 180 L. Offer a varied diet of frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and marine pellets. Not reef-safe. Peaceful with most other fish but should not be kept with similar-sized butterflies in small tanks. Allow an acclimatisation period with live foods if needed.
