Parotocinclus jumbo
Also known as: Pitbull Pleco, LDA033, Pitbull Catfish
Origin: Brazil
Parotocinclus jumbo (LDA033) is a small, disc-shaped loricariid from Brazil well adapted to fast-flowing, oxygen-rich waters. Its sucker mouth clings tightly to glass, rocks, and wood while it grazes biofilm and algae. Remarkably peaceful and small, it is one of the few plecos truly suited to planted nano tanks without overwhelming the aquascape.
Water: 22–27°C, pH 6.5–7.5, moderate; good current and oxygenation. Tank: Smooth surfaces, glass, and rocks to graze; plants safe; minimum 40L. Feeding: Herbivore; biofilm, algae wafers, spirulina, blanched cucumber and zucchini. Behaviour: Active daytime grazer; peaceful; can be kept in small groups. Compatibility: Ideal for nano and planted community tanks; compatible with all small peaceful fish.
