Gobiodon citrinus
Origin: Indo-Pacific
The Lemon Coral Goby (Gobiodon citrinus) is a vivid yellow species that lives obligately among the branches of Acropora and similar SPS corals. It secretes a bitter-tasting mucus that deters predators, providing remarkable protection in the reef environment. Pairs bond closely and can be kept together on coral colonies in a dedicated SPS reef setup.
Best kept in a reef aquarium of at least 80 L with established Acropora or similar branching SPS corals. Pairs are ideal; they will claim and defend a single coral colony. Feed fine frozen mysis, copepods, and nano-pellets. Peaceful with other reef inhabitants and rarely leaves its host coral.
