Pomacentrus moluccensis
Origin: Indo-Pacific, Moluccas to Great Barrier Reef
The Lemon Damselfish (Pomacentrus moluccensis) is a vibrant species entirely clothed in bright lemon-yellow colouration, with a small blue dot above each scale giving it a delicate iridescent sparkle. Found throughout the Indo-Pacific on sheltered reef slopes, it is one of the more manageable damsels in terms of aggression and adapts well to aquarium life.
House in a reef or FOWLR aquarium of at least 75 L. Provide live rock territories to establish. Feed a varied diet of quality flake, frozen mysis, and algae-based foods. Can be territorial toward similar species but generally less aggressive than other damsels. Hardy and disease-resistant.
