Micropanchax loati
Origin: East Africa, Nile Basin
Micropanchax loati (Loat's Lampeye) is a rarely encountered lampeye killifish from East Africa including the Nile basin, with the characteristic blue-green iridescent eyes of the group. This small surface dweller is an interesting species for the biotope enthusiast focused on East African freshwater fish. Benefits from a well-planted tank with floating plants and subdued lighting.
Keep in groups of 8 or more in a planted aquarium of at least 30 L. Provide floating plants and gentle water movement. Feed micro-pellets, daphnia, and baby brine shrimp. Peaceful and compatible with small, gentle tankmates. A secure lid is advisable as small killifish can jump.
