Pelvicachromis taeniatus 'Lobe'

Origin: West Africa (Cameroon, Lobe River)
The Lobe Krib is collected from the Lobe River near Kribi in Cameroon, one of several geographically defined colour variants of Pelvicachromis taeniatus. The species complex exhibits significant variation in patterning across locales, making the Lobe variant a collectible form for dedicated enthusiasts. Breeding behaviour and care are typical of the taeniatus group.
Water: 24–27°C, pH 5.5–7.0, soft water (GH 1–8). Tank: Minimum 80L with caves, leaf litter, and plants to mimic natural habitat. Feeding: Micro pellets, frozen and live foods including bloodworm, daphnia, and brine shrimp. Behaviour: Cave-brooding pairs; males display aggressively to rivals but are manageable with adequate space. Compatibility: Best with small tetras or rasboras; avoid other bottom-dwelling cichlids in smaller tanks.
