Lobophyllia corymbosa
Origin: Indo-Pacific
Lobophyllia corymbosa produces flattened colonies with large, distinct lobes separated by deep valleys, each hosting a fleshy polyp that extends colourful tentacles at night. Its bold geometric pattern and vivid multicoloured lobes in green, orange, red, and brown make it one of the most visually striking LPS corals for reef keepers. Stable alkalinity and calcium are key to maintaining skeleton and encouraging growth.
Place on the substrate or low rock with moderate flow and medium to low lighting. Maintain stable alkalinity (8–9 dKH) and calcium (400–450 ppm). Target feed polyps with mysis or minced mussel 1–2 times weekly. Provide adequate spacing from other corals to prevent sweeper tentacle damage.
