Corydoras narcissus
Also known as: Long-snout Cory, Narcissus Cory
Origin: South America
Corydoras narcissus is a large and elegant Corydoras from the Rio Ica, recognisable by its distinctly elongated snout, gracefully arched back, and two large black saddle markings. It inhabits soft, acidic waters and requires similar conditions in the aquarium. Its rarity and dramatic appearance make it among the most coveted species in the genus.
Water: 22–26°C, pH 5.5–7.0, soft and slightly acidic; avoid hard, alkaline water. Tank: 80L+, fine sand substrate, dim lighting, driftwood and leaf litter; gentle flow. Feeding: Sinking wafers, frozen bloodworm, brine shrimp, and quality micro pellets. Behaviour: Peaceful schooling bottom dweller; groups of 6+ strongly recommended. Compatibility: Best in soft-water communities; ideal with tetras and small cichlids.
