Pseudanthias ventralis
Origin: Central Pacific, Hawaii to Fiji
Pseudanthias ventralis is a stunning deep-water anthias from the Central Pacific, with males displaying an extraordinary elongated ventral fin and a vibrant pink-red body accented with yellow scale edges. Best suited for experienced reefkeepers who can provide stable, cooler water and frequent daily feedings. A small harem group is ideal to keep males in peak colour.
Keep in a harem of 1 male and 2–5 females in a reef of at least 200 L. Feed frozen mysis, enriched brine shrimp, and copepods 3+ times daily. Maintain cooler water (22–25°C) and stable, pristine conditions. Sensitive during acclimation; acclimate slowly and maintain excellent water quality. Not for beginners.
