Corydoras paleatus (longfin var.)
Also known as: Longfin Peppered Cory, Veil-fin Peppered Cory
Origin: South America
The Longfin Peppered Cory is a selectively bred form of Corydoras paleatus, one of the hardiest cory species, with dramatically extended fins on all fins. It retains the cold-tolerance and robustness of the standard form. Due to its long fins, it should be kept with non-nippy tankmates to prevent fin damage.
Water: 18–26°C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft to hard; extremely tolerant of varied conditions. Tank: 60L+, fine sand substrate, plants and open areas; can be kept in unheated tanks. Feeding: Sinking wafers, algae tabs, pellets, frozen bloodworm, and brine shrimp. Behaviour: Active, peaceful schooling bottom dweller; keep in groups of 6+. Compatibility: Excellent community fish; avoid fin-nipping species.
