Corydoras loretoensis
Also known as: Loreto Cory
Origin: South America
Corydoras loretoensis is a small, lightly spotted cory from Peru's Loreto region, identifiable by its relatively high-positioned eye and compact body form. It is a shy but peaceful species that thrives in groups. Its small size makes it appropriate for smaller aquariums alongside comparably sized tankmates.
Water: 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.2, soft to medium hardness. Tank: 60L+, fine sand substrate, plants for cover, gentle to moderate flow. Feeding: Small sinking wafers, micro pellets, frozen daphnia, cyclops, and bloodworm. Behaviour: Shy, peaceful schooling bottom dweller; groups of 6+ improve confidence. Compatibility: Best with small peaceful tetras, pencilfish, and other small cories.
