Hyphessobrycon loretoensis

Origin: Peru (Loreto, upper Amazon tributaries)
Hyphessobrycon loretoensis, the Loreto Tetra, originates from the Loreto region of Peru in the upper Amazon tributaries. Its fine black lateral stripe is positioned beneath a vivid iridescent golden-green horizontal band, creating subtle but beautiful contrast. A small, delicate, and peaceful species best suited to nano planted aquariums with soft, warm water and a well-established biological filter.
Water: 24–28°C, pH 5.5–7.0, soft and slightly acidic. Tank: 40 L minimum; nano planted aquarium with gentle filtration and dark substrate. Feeding: Micro-pellets, baby brine shrimp nauplii, micro-worms and small frozen invertebrates. Behaviour: Peaceful schooling nano species; keep 8+; active mid-water swimmer. Compatibility: Best with other nano fish — pygmy corydoras, small pencilfish, nano rasboras.
