Pseudanthias squamipinnis
Origin: Indo-Pacific, Red Sea
One of the most popular and widely kept anthias, the Lyretail Anthias (Pseudanthias squamipinnis) displays stunning orange-red colouration with a distinctive lyrate tail in males. Haremic fish that thrive in groups with one dominant male and several females. Provide plenty of open water swimming space and regular feedings of meaty foods throughout the day.
Keep as a harem group (1 male + multiple females) in a spacious reef of at least 300 L. Feed frozen mysis, cyclops, and enriched brine shrimp 3+ times daily. Dominant males are territorial toward other males. Provide strong flow and bright open water. Beautiful display fish when well maintained.
