Origin: Lake Tanganyika, Africa
Neolamprologus furcifer is a medium-large lamprologine from the rocky intermediate zones of Lake Tanganyika. Its deeply forked lyretail and horizontal brown-and-cream stripe pattern make it an attractive addition to a spacious Tanganyika aquarium. Feeding: Good-quality cichlid pellet and flake; supplement with frozen Mysis or Artemia. Behaviour: Territorial cave spawner; pair defends eggs and fry with determination. Compatibility: Cyprichromis leptosoma, Paracyprichromis nigripinnis, Julidochromis species.
