About

Devario malabaricus (Malabar Devario) is a large, energetic danionid from the western coast of India, featuring iridescent blue-green and gold markings. An excellent dither fish for cichlid tanks due to its bold, active nature. Best kept in schools in spacious aquariums with plenty of open swimming room.

Care Guide

Keep in groups of at least 6 in a spacious aquarium of 120 L or more. Provide open swimming areas with some planting at the margins. Feed quality flake, micro-pellets, and occasional frozen foods. Highly active and appreciates strong water flow. Compatible with a wide range of community and cichlid species.
