About

Tetraodon cf. lineatus from Madagascar represents an isolated population with banding similar to the Nile Puffer, adapted to the island's freshwater rivers and lakes. Madagascar's unique biogeographical history means this form may represent a distinct undescribed species. It is extremely rarely encountered in the trade and commands serious collector interest.

Care Guide

Feeding: Large snails, mussels, clams, whole cockles, and prawns. Behaviour: Highly aggressive and territorial; strict solo species-only housing required.
