Malawa Shrimp

Malawa Shrimp (Caridina spinata) originate from Sulawesi rivers and display a translucent body with subtle orange-brown tones and characteristic white spots. Hardier than many other Sulawesi shrimp, they can adapt to a broader range of water parameters and make a good introduction to the Sulawesi Caridina group. Active algae grazers that appreciate a well-planted, mature tank.

Keep in a mature planted aquarium of at least 30 L with stable, slightly alkaline water. Avoid sudden parameter changes. Feed algae wafers, blanched vegetables, and mineral-enriched shrimp foods. Sensitive to copper and medications containing it. Provide dense planting and hiding spots.
