Metasesarma aubryi is a small semi-aquatic crab from Southeast Asian coastal forests and riverbanks, featuring a distinctive marbled white and brown carapace. It spends time both in and out of water and benefits from a paludarium with tropical vegetation, moist substrate, and access to shallow water. It is relatively peaceful among crabs of its size.
Water: 24–28°C, pH 7.5–8.0; shallow freshwater pool with access to a humid land zone. Tank: Minimum 50L paludarium with tropical substrate, leaf litter, moss, and hiding spots. Feeding: Fallen leaves, fruit, dried insects, sinking pellets, and plant matter. Behaviour: Semi-terrestrial; active in evening hours; less aggressive than many other semi-terrestrial crabs. Compatibility: Can be kept in pairs or small groups with ample space; not suitable with fish.
