Corydoras metae

Corydoras metae is a popular species from the Rio Meta in Colombia, easily recognised by the dark stripe running through its eye and continuing to the dorsal fin, resembling a mask. Its golden body colouration and active disposition make it a favourite in the hobby. It is moderately hardy and performs well in most community aquariums.
Water: 22–27°C, pH 6.0–7.2, soft to medium hardness; adaptable. Tank: 60L+, fine sand substrate, moderate flow, plants and open sandy areas. Feeding: Sinking wafers, pellets, frozen bloodworm, daphnia, and brine shrimp. Behaviour: Active, peaceful schooling bottom dweller; keep in groups of 6+. Compatibility: Excellent community fish; pairs well with tetras, rasboras, and other cories.
