About
Mbuna Assorted packs contain a selection of popular small to medium mbuna species from Lake Malawi, typically including representatives from Pseudotropheus, Labidochromis, Melanochromis, and related genera. These packages provide an instant colourful display and are an excellent entry point into Malawi cichlid keeping.
Care Guide
Water: 24-27°C, pH 7.8-9.0, hard alkaline water; robust filtration for mixed species groups. Tank: Minimum 200L; dense rockwork to break lines of sight and allow territory establishment. Feeding: Spirulina and algae-based pellets as staple; supplement with frozen brine shrimp or mysis. Behaviour: Mixed aggression levels; overstocking slightly can diffuse aggression by spreading it around. Compatibility: Mbuna community only; do not mix with peacocks, haps, or non-cichlid species.
