Amphiprion melanopus
Origin: Western Pacific, Philippines to Samoa
The Melanopus Clownfish has a deep red-orange body, jet-black flanks, and a single prominent white head bar. Native to the Western Pacific, it associates primarily with Entacmaea quadricolor bubble-tip anemones and develops a bold, characterful personality in the home aquarium.
House in a reef of at least 100 L with an E. quadricolor anemone or as a bonded pair. Feed frozen mysis, chopped mussel, and quality marine pellets. Semi-aggressive toward other clownfish species but peaceful with dissimilar reef inhabitants. A robust and characterful reef fish.
