About

Melanotaenia lacustris, the Lake Kutubu or Kutubu Rainbowfish, is one of the most brilliantly coloured rainbowfish — intense teal-blue upper body fading to yellow-green below. Males become more vivid with age. Excellent large community fish.

Care Guide

School of 6+. Temperature 22–27°C, pH 7.0–8.0, GH 8–15. Planted 150 L+. Feed quality flakes, pellets, frozen Artemia. Males display and flash colours toward females and rivals — spectacular.
