Melanotaenia sp. "Mamberamo" hails from the Mamberamo River, one of the largest and most remote river systems in New Guinea. Its vivid blue-green body with red and orange highlights makes it among the most striking of all undescribed forms. Rarely available in the hobby, it commands significant interest from rainbowfish specialists worldwide.
Water: 24–28°C, pH 6.5–7.5, soft to moderately hard water. Tank: 150 L+, open swimming space, planted margins, regular water changes. Feeding: Omnivore; quality flakes, pellets, and generous frozen/live food portions. Behaviour: Active, peaceful schooling fish; best in mixed-sex groups of 6+. Compatibility: Good community fish; best kept as a species group to maintain purity.
