Ptereleotris microlepis
Origin: Indo-Pacific
The Microlepis Dartfish (Ptereleotris microlepis) features a pale, almost translucent blue-green body with a delicate gradient to a darker tail. Schools in open water in the wild and adapts well to aquarium life when kept in small groups with a sand burrow system for refuge. A peaceful, active fish that adds movement and shimmer to larger reef displays.
Keep in groups of 3–6 in a reef or FOWLR aquarium of at least 150 L with a tight-fitting lid. Provide a fine sand bed with burrow sites. Feed frozen mysis, copepods, and quality marine pellets multiple times daily. Peaceful with all reef inhabitants. Will dart rapidly if startled; ensure the lid is secure.
