Micropoecilia picta
Origin: Trinidad, Suriname, Brazil
Micropoecilia picta, the Swamp Guppy or Scarlet Livebearer, is a tiny and brilliantly coloured livebearer from Trinidad and South America. Males display vivid orange-red and black colouration. Despite their small size (2.5 cm), they are not easily kept with larger fish and do best in a species or nano community tank. Pack of 6.
Best kept as a species or with other small, peaceful fish. At least 20 L for a colony. Tolerates slightly brackish conditions. Feed micro foods: baby brine shrimp, micro worms, nano flake. Excellent choice for a Caribbean nano biotope tank. Avoid large tankmates.
