About

Small Mirror Carp juveniles are already recognizable by their unique, irregularly scattered large reflective scales on an otherwise smooth body. They grow rapidly in well-fed garden ponds and develop strong personalities, often learning to surface-feed from the hand. A staple of Dutch and Belgian pond culture for their combination of visual interest and ease of care.

Care Guide

Stock in a pond of at least 2000 L with strong biological filtration. Feed quality pond pellets year-round; reduce feeding in winter when water temperature drops below 10°C. These carp are hardy and will survive Belgian winters in sufficiently deep ponds.
