Mloto Hap

Copadichromis mloto is a slender, open-water cichlid from Lake Malawi that displays a distinctive white-blue body with a bold mid-lateral stripe in both sexes. Males develop a brighter blue colouration and darker stripe at maturity. It is one of the more peaceful large Malawi haps and tends to school loosely in groups, making it unusual among haplochromines.

Water: 24-28°C, pH 7.5-8.5, hard alkaline with good circulation. Tank: 300L minimum; needs significant swimming space; avoid overly crowded décor. Feeding: Cichlid pellets, frozen daphnia, mysis; feeds primarily in the water column. Behaviour: Relatively peaceful; one of the calmer Malawi haps. Compatibility: Excellent with other non-aggressive haps and peacocks.
