Gobiodon rivulatus
Origin: Indo-Pacific
The Multibarred Coral Goby is a colorful, reef-dedicated species with an orange-red body accented by vertical blue-white bars behind the head—a striking combination that makes it stand out among the muted tones of a coral colony. True to its goby nature, it rarely ventures far from its host Acropora or Stylophora coral, where it feeds on coral mucus and small invertebrates. Ideal for SPS reef aquariums where it adds an excellent splash of permanent color.
Requires a healthy SPS reef aquarium with established Acropora or Stylophora colonies. Feed supplementarily with small meaty foods including copepods, frozen mysis, and micro-pellets. Keep singly or as a mated pair per colony. Generally not aggressive outside of its immediate territory.
