Pomacea bridgesii
Origin: South America (captive bred)
The Blue Mystery Snail (Pomacea bridgesii) is a captivating colour morph with a bright blue-tinted shell and matching body pigmentation that stands out beautifully in any aquascape. Like all Mystery Snails, it is completely plant-safe and diligently grazes on soft algae, detritus, and uneaten food. It breathes atmospheric air through a siphon and will occasionally venture to the waterline, so a secure lid is essential.
Maintain adequate calcium (GH 8+) for healthy shell growth; supplement with cuttlebone or calcium-rich foods if needed. Provide a tight-fitting lid to prevent escape. Feed supplementary algae wafers and blanched vegetables. Avoid copper-based medications, which are lethal to snails.
