About
Nannostomus beckfordi, the Golden Pencilfish, displays a brilliant golden-red body with a dark lateral stripe. More active and easier than many pencilfish species. Inhabits the middle zone with its characteristic horizontal dart-like posture.

School of 6+. Soft, slightly acidic water. Temperature 23–28°C, pH 6.0–7.5. Feed micro-worms, Artemia nauplii, small flakes. Peaceful with all similarly-sized fish.
